Check Warren County 24-Hour Releases

A Warren County 24 hour release list would answer who was released in the last 24 hours from the regional jail. No official same-day release feed is published for Warren County, Virginia. RSW Regional Jail instead provides a current-custody roster, which cannot prove why a name disappeared. A sound same-day check starts with that roster and continues through the jail records office, court case information, custody notifications, or state corrections records. These separate sources help distinguish a true return to the community from a transfer, hospital move, electronic monitoring placement, or another agency taking custody.

No Official Warren County 24-Hour Feed

Neither RSW Regional Jail nor Warren County publishes a distinct official page listing everyone released today. The RSW JailTracker roster is the official online jail locator, but its purpose is to show current custody. It has no documented last-24-hours filter, update interval, or stated period for keeping departed names online. Calling that roster a release list would blur a vital fact: absence from current custody does not identify what happened next.

RSW serves Warren, Rappahannock, and Shenandoah Counties. A regional set of names is not automatically a Warren County 24-hour release list. A person may also leave RSW because another jail, VADOC, a hospital, or an agency holding a warrant or detainer accepted custody. Home Electronic Monitoring is another distinct outcome. It moves an approved person outside the secure building under jail-administered limits, but it is not full discharge from custody.

Verify the event: A missing roster entry is a lead, not proof of release. Confirm the named booking with RSW and the agency that received the person, if any.

Check Warren County 24-Hour Releases

Same-day work is most reliable when each check answers one narrow question. Write down the time of the first roster search. Keep the booking number if it appears. Then use the jail, court, notification, and state systems for the parts of the event each one owns. The Warren County released-inmate search gives broader routes for a named person whose custody path is uncertain.

  1. Check current custody. Search the official RSW roster and note whether the matching current booking appears. Compare more than a name when possible.
  2. Call the jail. Contact RSW Records at (540) 622-5024 or Booking at (540) 622-8620 or (540) 622-8683. Ask whether that booking ended and whether the outcome was community release or transfer.
  3. Read the court case. Search the General District Court system and, when relevant, the Circuit Court portal for a bond, dismissal, sentencing, or transfer order.
  4. Check the next custodian. Use Virginia Jail VINE for a reported local custody change. Search the VADOC locator if a state transfer or active supervision is possible.
  5. Obtain the durable record. Request the RSW release sheet or movement record when the exact date, time, authority, or destination matters.

The court record can show the order that allowed or required a departure. It does not certify the minute RSW completed processing. Likewise, a VINE alert is useful status evidence, but it may follow data sent by the custodian. No source should be treated as an official real-time feed unless its agency says that it is.

Note: Match the full name with a birth date, booking number, case number, or inmate ID before treating two records as the same person.

Warren County 24-Hour Record Fields

There is no public RSW same-day feed with a verified field set. The fields below belong in a focused request for an existing release or movement record. They should not be described as fields shown by JailTracker. Asking for the named booking is more precise than asking staff to create a new list.

Requested fieldWhat it can establish
Full name and booking numberLinks the response to the correct RSW custody event.
Booking date and timeIdentifies when that local or regional jail stay began.
Release date and timeRecords when RSW ended the custody event or movement.

Some material may be withheld or redacted. Sealed records, juvenile information, medical material, protected investigative content, and security information have separate limits. Since July 1, 2026, RSW also says charge-related information is no longer shown through its public locator under Virginia’s sealing law. The court portal and a lawful, narrow records request now carry more of the verification work.

What Time Does RSW Release Inmates?

RSW confirms that its building has dedicated intake and release areas. It does not publish a routine discharge hour, exact exit door, weekend procedure, family waiting area, or set time when release processing ends. Another Virginia jail’s schedule cannot be applied to RSW. Court paperwork, identity checks, property and account steps, warrants, detainers, and receiving-agency arrangements can all affect when a person actually moves.

For a live operational question, call RSW Booking at (540) 622-8620 or (540) 622-8683. Ask about the named person rather than seeking a broad prediction. RSW Records can later document the completed event. A court order may authorize release, yet the jail record remains the better source for the actual processing time.

Note: Do not arrange a pickup around an assumed release hour; verify the named person’s status with Booking before anyone travels to RSW.

Getting Home After Warren County Release

RSW sits on Winchester Road along the Route 340/522 corridor. The Front Royal Trolley timetable lists an “RSW Regional Jail” stop on Route 1. That is a documented public transportation option, but the listed jail service is limited. The schedule does not support an assumption that every loop, late hour, weekend, or holiday trip stops at the facility.

Check the current timetable before release day and plan another safe ride if service does not line up with the actual exit. A same-day release may be delayed, and no published RSW rule promises a fixed hour. People meeting someone should also confirm the release destination. A transfer to VADOC or another custodian will not end at the public pickup point, even though the person has left the RSW roster.

Why Warren County Release Data Changes

The RSW locator is a live custody tool, not a historical archive. RSW has not published its refresh cadence or explained how long a departed entry stays visible. Repeating the same roster search during the day may show a change, but it cannot reveal whether staff recorded a community release, a transfer, or another movement. Formal retention of the underlying jail record is also different from online visibility. A name vanishing from the screen does not mean the government record was erased.

Charge data creates a further local wrinkle. RSW announced that charge-related information would leave the locator beginning July 1, 2026, due to Virginia’s sealing changes. An older screenshot and a current screen may therefore display different categories even when they concern similar bookings. Use the current court case for the judicial event, and use RSW for the release or movement record. If the agency no longer holds a requested item, ask it to identify the governing retention schedule.

Warren County Release or Transfer?

A release closes one facility’s custody event, but it does not always mean freedom from all custody. Bond can place a person in the community while the criminal case continues. Time served means the court credited confinement already completed against the active term. A transfer ends RSW custody because another agency receives the person. Parole or probation can put someone in the community under conditions, while full discharge ends the applicable custody or supervision term.

Federal and immigration systems are separate. VINE does not cover federal custody. Use the Bureau of Prisons locator only when a federal sentence is supported by the case facts, and use the ICE locator only when immigration custody is a real possibility.

RSW Record Request for Same-Day Releases

Send a jail release request to RSW, the agency that owns the booking and movement records. Address it to the designated FOIA officer at RSW Regional Jail, 6601 Winchester Road, Front Royal, VA 22630. The published contact is Major Michael D. Miller at (540) 622-5028, fax (540) 622-2846, or michael.miller@rswregionaljail.com. Mail, fax, email, in-person, and telephone requests are accepted under the agency’s procedure.

Describe existing records with reasonable detail. Give the person’s full name, aliases, date of birth when needed, booking number, exact date range, and Warren County as the committing jurisdiction. Ask for the booking sheet, release sheet, and movement or transfer record. Under Virginia Code § 2.2-3704, the public body ordinarily responds within five working days through production, a lawful withholding, partial production, a no-record response, or a statutory extension. Weekends and holidays do not count in that initial period.

RSW may charge reasonable actual costs for search, access, duplication, and supplies. No flat release-sheet price is published. Ask for an estimate first. If the estimate is more than $200, the agency may require a deposit and pause the response clock until it is paid. For a broader three-day check, the Warren County 72-hour release process explains how to bound the dates without asking RSW to create a custom report.
